When we first got Archie I was worried about how my work would affect him. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be at home all of the time and I worked as a TV and Video Producer. I still do today, but now I work for myself, running my own company so hours and the work from home lifestyle suits.
Between Alex, myself and our dog walkers Jenny & Lisa, we were very fortunate to make arrangements that suited us and made sure Archie was happy and not lonely. Wheatens are such loving companions, it would be cruel to keep them from having any social interaction throughout the day. They don't like being left for long periods of time on their own, but hey, neither would I!

On the days when Archie couldn't come to work with me, I took Archie out for 40 minutes in the morning at 8.00am and then Jenny came again at lunchtime to play with him and walk him. In the evening either myself or Alex were back at around 5-6 to take him out again so he's wasn't lonely throughout the day and got plenty of excercise.
Every year, there's a "Take your dog to work day" - the braindchild of Blue Cross. It takes place on the 19th September. I try and encourage as many organisation to get involved and enjoy the chaos.
