3 Months Old

Well, Archie has been living with us for nearly 3 weeks and he's well and truly part of the family. I knew I would love him, but not half as much as I do. He's a delight to have around, makes us howl with laughter and is such a loving, waggy tailed companion. We've enrolled in puppy classes now and he's in his 3rd week. He seems to do everything perfectly when bribed with pieces of frankfurter sausage. I think he's lulling us into a false sense of security, learning all the commands, before merrily doing his own thing.

We've been out and about every day, taking walks locally and exploring. Everyone and anyone wants to talk to him and he thinks it's their duty to talk to him also. He walks perfectly on the lead when you have his attention with a treat and then when he sees a person coming, swims towards them in anticipation of a cuddle. Most of the time he's off the lead in the park and fields and toddles along behind our heels, tail and head held high. So far he's made friends with an enormous docile greyhound, had puppy play with a local jack russell and jumped around a king charles spaniel called rollo.

His biggest adventure to date has been sea fishing! We all went dressed as pirates on a sea fishing trip with friends, and there was no way Archie was staying at home and missing the excitement, so he came with us, dressed as pirate dog! We had a brilliant day and he's truly a sea dog now. Flapping mackerel on the deck of the boat were very exciting, but most of the time he just lay there happy to be around so many people, no dogy sickness at all, although we all looked a bit green around the gills when the wind picked up.
